New Years Eve in Hawaii

December 27, 2011

Spending New Years Eve in Hawaii, you will see traditional fireworks on all of the islands. You can view them from land or sea. There are also cruises available during the fireworks on Oahu and Maui.

If you are planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Hawaii, here are some events happening around the state:

The Ko Olina Resort on the windward side will be having one of Hawaii’s largest fireworks shows. Waikiki will also have fireworks at midnight.

Aloha Tower in Honolulu will have 6 stages set up with 20 DJ’s performing at Hawaii’s largest New Year’s Eve block party.

From the Grand Wailea and Four Seasons Maui at Wailea, you can watch fireworks at midnight.

Big Island
Entertainment and fireworks can be seen around Kailua-Kona and at the resorts on the Kohala Coast.

At Poipu Beach Park there is an annual New Year’s Eve music festival and fireworks celebration. Starting at 5pm with music, food and activities. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.

Do it yourself:

  • If you would like to have your own fireworks show, that is still possible here in Hawaii. Fireworks go on this week and can be legally set off from 9pm through 1am on New Year’s Eve.
  • Oahu has a fireworks ban. This means that permits are required.
